Siberian Brown Bear

Siberian brown bear (Ursus arctos collaris) is intermediate in size between Eurasian and Kamchatka brown bear. The fur is long, soft and dense. The color is usually dark brown with noticeably darker legs. The Siberian brown bear has the largest habitat in Russia. The typical Siberian brown bear runs between eight - eight and a half feet (2,40 – 2,60 m). Occasionally a nine-foot (2,75 m) bear can be found. It is advantageous to hunt brown bears in spring-time since they are in move searching for food on open mountain slopes. Moreover, the quality of hides in early spring is superior over those harvested in fall. The suggested hunting area is full of bears not spooked by hunters.
You will hunt in a real wild mountain taiga.
Three to four bears can be encountered per day.

Route:

Upon your arrival in Moscow you will be met by our PRO crew and assisted through customs. You will be transferred to connecting airport (terminal) for the next 4 hours flight to Kemerovo or Novokuznetsk. From there you will go by 2 hours vehicle transfer and then 6 hours boat transfer to the hunting camp.

Climate

During daylight hours the temperature in April/May is 50 to 60 ^oF (10 to 15 ^oC) and during nighttime  is  32 to 50 ^oF  (0 – 10  ^oC ).

Camp and accommodation

Сamp is based on wooden lodge with cots. There are 3 cabins in the camp: one is for local guides, one is for guests and one is the dinning room and kitchen. 220 V generator and Russian sauna (to take a shower ) is available. Our staff does everything possible to please our guests.

Hunting

Bears are typically congregated in areas where the first green grass appear. They are hunted in 'spot and stalk' way. Considerable walking is necessary. To move in the area we use motor boats. Hunter and 2 experienced guides are cruising rivers by boat glassing riverside for bears. If a good size bear is spotted, the stalk begins.
Most hunts are provided in the afternoon hours—this is the best time to see bears moving on the grass fields. And always hunters come back to camp before the dark. Shooting range is expected to be about 100–200 meters (150-250 yards).
